“All five of these photos are from my newest book, available now for preorder and releasing March 1st – Five Mile Radius. Five Mile Radius is a project based around limitation and observation. Every photo in the project was taken within five miles of my house, for two reasons. Firstly, due to circumstance – for a while I could only take pictures on my way to and from work or while out running errands, so I began taking pictures of anything I could along the way. This evolved into the second reason, namely that I found a lot of creativity within limitation. Giving myself the challenge of only photographing within five miles of my house forced me to look at the world differently, to slow down and see photographic compositions in terms of lines and shape and interplay, not in terms of content.”
